Where are we?

. Alevia, a cosy corner in the west of Asturias, reached by a narrow, winding road 3 kms. from Panes, is a village with special charm, faithful to its artistic roots and once a strategic point in the Sierra del Cuera from whence you can enjoy impressive views of the Picos de Europa, the valley of Cares and the Hermida pass. The best views are from San Antonio at the base of the clock tower and a key historical look out point. Alevia is in a strategic position, 10Kms from the Cantabrian Sea to the north with the Picos de Europa to the South and with the border with Cantabria to the East.
The village enjoys an enviable position. It can be the base for visiting the National Park or by car within 25 minutes of the Ruta del Cares which begins in Poncebos and includes the climb to Bulnes (the village which gives its name to the most magnificent vantage place in the Picos; the Naranjo de Bulnes)

Following the course of the River Deva by car you can reach Potes in 25 minutes. This is the southern access to tMapa de Situacionhe Picos de Europa (via Fuente Dé). Along the way you can enjoy a visit to Santa María de Lebeña (a wonderful example of mozárabe art) and the Monastery of San Toribio of Liébana.
Northwards, 15 minutes away you can enjoy the beaches of La Franca and San Vicente de la Barquera. A further 15 minutes away and you are at Llanes or Comillas and Santillana del Mar.

From N634, A8 Santander-Oviedo take the N621 Unquera turn off towards Panes (N621).After 12 kms. after the petrol station, turn right on the AS-114 towards Cangas de Onís. Immediately turn right after crossing the river and then left. There is a sign which says Alevia 3. Follow the steep, winding new road (PB-2) and after 3kms you will arrive at the village. Casona D’Alevia is in the centre.

From Cangis de Onís via the As-114 you reach Panes after 54 kms. Before crossing the bridge, turn left and then left again. There is a sign which says Alevia 3. Follow the steep, winding new road (PB-2) and after 3kms you will arrive at the village. Casona D’Alevia is in the centre, to the left of Bolera.
